This is a project I worked on from initial ideation and community testing through to the Kickstarter campaign and commercial product development. It was produced as a break out session for co-working communities across New York - offering an alternative to the after lunch facebook and kittens on you-tube slump. Using short physical activities for productive distractions and creative thinking.
Designercise works on the idea that creative thinking requires a different approach than the routine of ordinary work practices - also, like excercise, it's a skill which benifits from practice. Designercise uses play and humour to open discussion on social and environmental issues, from the serious to the ridiculous. It's highly effective for ideation and building community,
The kits are in produced in Mexico City from recycled and sustainable material sources with local, ethical manufacture.
I worked on the analogue side of game development, including play mechanics, session faciliation and co-faciliation. I was also involved in the creative decisions and development into a formal toolkit of games. My work also involved community outreach over the Kickstarter campaign, and its formulation.
